Zelmyra and Herbert Fisher’s marriage withstood the Great Depression, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Civil Rights Movement, and 15 presidential organizations. The North Carolina couple, who marry on May 13, 1924, were perceived by the Guinness Book of World Records as the most seasoned living couple in 2008 with 84 years of marriage.

When Herbert passed away in 2011 at 105 years old, he and his better half had been hitched for about 87 years. Zelmyra, who had driven a large portion of her existence with Herbert next to her, lived for an additional two years after the demise of her sweetheart.
